Seat Rotation & Smoking

Alaska Gold Standard Tours strives to give visitors the most excellent experience and with that, seat rotation will be practiced every day. Alaska law prohibits smoking in enclosed public places including buses and a no smoking policy is strictly enforced while on board. Stops will be made at regular intervals to permit you to stretch your legs, utilize the bathroom, or smoke.

Cell Phones

While the vast majority of people visit Alaska to escape from the interruptions of everyday life, it’s critical to have the option to speak with one another and your friends and family back at home during your visit. In spite of what many people think, there is really great cell phone coverage in Alaska. The 4 significant USA suppliers offer great coverage in bigger urban communities and towns. Please be considerate to fellow guests and refrain from using your cell phone on the bus.

Special Needs and Requests

Here at Alaska Gold Standard Tours we strive to give you the best service possible. With the goal for us to do that, please notify our staff when booking regarding any dietary, mobility, or medical needs to guarantee quality service. We will always do our best to accommodate any requests made, but with the nature of Alaska living, these requests are not always something we can deliver. Please leave a detailed explanation of the request in our “Request To Book” form and we will do our best to make the necessary accommodations!

Tipping/Gratuities

When it comes to gratuities for your driver and tour guide, generally speaking, we believe it is entirely up to each individual, as each traveler’s means and desire to tip varies. We believe that tipping encourages excellence and rewards a job well done thus, we support tipping.

Another question we often get is “how much should I tip”?

Generally, we recommend between $10-$20 per person, per day. All restaurant tips will be covered by Alaska Gold Standard Tours. Tipping to outside vendors (ATV guide, horseback guide, boat captain, etc.) is NOT included and is left to the discretion of each individual participating in that activity. Though it is not required, it is recommended.

.

Luggage

Due to limited space, luggage allowance is one suitcase and one small carry-on per guest. Because of weight restrictions, the maximum weight per suitcase is 50 pounds. Guests departing or arriving on a cruise are allowed two suitcases, one for the land tour and one for the cruise portion of your vacation. Cruise ship luggage will remain with the vehicle for the duration of the land tour, however it will not be accessible to guests.

Valuables and Photography Equipment

Definitely bring your cameras and keep them close for the delightful scenery and wildlife spotting! All valuables and personal belongings ought to be kept with you at all times. Vehicles are always locked when not being used. Alaska Gold Standard Tours is not responsible for any lost or stolen belongings.
